I think I had a set of those on an FZR 600 at one time. Are you running the stock size on the back, or did you go a little wider?
That's interesting, it does appear that the upper cowl is off a new model. Bike runs great, but handles like a wet sponge. Probably a good thing...
On the stamp it has 1986 and 2/86 as production date. The dash and engine cover may have been replaced, that would be interesting to know.
