I had a out of state (ca)95 vfr without smog,with 45.000mi,I just got a 96 vfr with smog 8.000mi,it has alot less power than the 95,its runs...
try leaning bike to the right with motor runing & if the nosie stops,it a cam gear. it sounds just like a nosiy valve
