Tourning not a problem ... last summer did 2500 miles to northern Calf to do 299, 36 1, and 3. We averaged about 350 miles a day. I'm 5'8" 150...
I varried rpm for the first 600 miles. Ran up to 7000 to kick in VTEC and backed off at least once a ride. First few rides only about 30 miles...

IMHO .... I've had no problems with the VTEC (5000+miles) nor have I heard or read of any. If you want this bike to go, keep it between 5 & 7000...
