Many earplugs use a filter to get rid of the wind noise, but you are still able to hear navi, coms and so on.. Invest in some quality ear plugs...

Went by the mechanic.. he said to leave it.. no air in it.. it also disengages when squeezing the lever while driving so it must be doing its job
