    From my point of view, VFR. I've had over 17 years on the street and just got a mint '99 VFR with only 5k on it. My previous bike was a '94VFR....

    Yes, it is absolutely normal. The noise you are hearing was apparent in both my '94VFR and my '84 VF1000 Interceptor. Normal throwout bearing...
