I don't know about VFR, but when I had Z750S and I switched to K&N I got better responed on lower RPM as well as about 10% better fuel milage.
Used to have it on cruiser bikes (Suzuki Marauder & Honda VF750). With right color and chrome looks realy good and much better visable at night...
