I got a screaming deal on the entire LED tail/brake/indicator unit $20 so thats what I'm using. I had to attach a perch tab on it from my old tail light but a dremel made it a easy task. No cracks just 2 broken tabs. 1 isnt that important but Ill prolly fix it the same way just tobe safe

Great news I guess.. Well it depends on how you look at I was just informed that we are not working Sunday. or next weekend so I can get the vfr on the road. The bad no extra work means no extra money for parts, wich have been stacking up.. Cant wait to get going on it again

Update from this weekend. I did the brakes all the way around. And yes the Pad pin was a major PITA. The cap came rite off it was the pin that was stuck. So bad in fact that I twisted a Snap-on Hex socket slightly before it finally broke loose. Well when I put on the rear wheel I noticed what looks like a fiberglass pad that looks like it could be some type of spacer under the bike. I looked a Bike Bandit and this piece doesn’t seem to be part of the brake caliper set up "No picture of it shown" Nor does the service manual show it. Is this a piece of a old pad that just came apart? I couldn’t see were it would have come from, or does it belong somewhere in the caliper.

There was also only 1 of these it has the same markings on the other side as pictured.
    Thanks for any help
Pics up soon of the work so far

It goes behind the brake pad as a buffer between the metal of the pad back and the metal of the caliper. It keeps the brakes from squealing.

Since you only have one I would put it on the piston side of the caliper. On a dual piston caliper it probably doesn't matter. I have not been into my brakes yet so I can't say for sure.

What a better way to start a new page than post PICTURES

Getting ready for who knows what... oh may as well do brakes since they came in..

Looks better but still ruff. I left the red over spray on the sub frame for now. Tryin to figure out how to remove it with the least amount of elbow grease.. Ya I know good luck..

Yellow over spray on the fork tube! I gave up tryin to figure out how some of this paint ended up were it did.. This color yellow isnt on the bike other than there..Had to strip all the oversprayed/brushed on pain off. At least I have nice clean surfaces to work with/ Yellow came rite off w a little thinner.. So thats what I'll do with the red on the frame.

Had Plasti diped the tank. The tape is from me coating the clutch cover with some RTV Hi temp flat black. I was not sure if I would have to replace the gasket aand didnt have a spare so I taped it all off and did it on the bike.

Filler spout painted same as the Clutch cover. Getting ready to hit the upper tripple with "yes you guessed it Plasti-dip"

Inners, Guage trim, and upper tripple Plasti-diped black. Remember this plasti dip can be pealed off when Im tired of it.. Thats why I use it. and it covers ugly pretty good wouldnt you say? New Levers are on the way also.

    Here we go Reasemble
    [IMG]
Fender, Tank, and left fairing "remember the left was the one with the hole and all the cracks in it.. turned out way better than I had hoped..

Need to Plasti-dip the tail, and left fairing. Thinking about doing the wheels also. I had to make a fairing mount and adjust the other to get the proper line up. Still need to get that over spray off the radiatiors and sub frame.

Tail lights are 5W x2 =10Watt so very little. Stop lights are 25W x2 =50W but as they are intermittent load, they don't really count. LED everything else will not bring down the load enough to let you run 90W dip lights, not to mention you will fry the harness unless you use a relay & appropriately sized direct wiring to carry that lighting load.

Thank you for the info. I'm gonna do some upgrades to the wiring as well as a couple of other tricks a few other forum members have suggested.
