stitched - notice along the cracks that I didn't just attempt to weld the whole crack in one shot. It's stitched together to hold it in place and minimize warping. Then I come back and weld the long cracks in between the tacks. I use a hot air gun. You can see more of my work in the 3rd Gen Resurrection thread linked in my signature.

yes. thought I may have mentioned that earlier? Dude took a track day class. Extremely hot afternoon and crashed it on the last run of the day. There's grass melted into the rear tire so it would seem the grip just let go.

Never too late. Glad my work tonight was on that other right side panel.

This is the bad side, a rash spot and the mounting for the turn signal is damaged.

Nope, thats my upper during the repaint. Just fiberglassed the dumbo holes, body filler, primer and paint...

Super easy and makes the bike look so much better. I also found some gsxr signal mirrors on ebay and those are now my primary signals. you could do that too, or get whatever flushmount type mirrors you want...

Not to undermine your generosity toecutter, but I also need to repair my upper. It's missing a piece under the left blinker and has a crack above the left headlight. If tink doesn't really want your spare upper, I sure could use it to repair and swap as soon as it's ready. That way my bike isn't down while I work on the plastic. I'd be happy to pass it forward and send my beat up one to tink so he can fill in the blinker holes when I swap them out. Or maybe I could repair my old one when it comes off and help out a member needing an upper.

    Just sayin.

    Jose

I don't know if it would even work on the 5th gen, or if you need it, but when I was troubleshooting my 6th gen Meatloaf sent me an IAT sensor that you're welcome to!
