What happen to him.....? Have not seen him on the forum lately. The last post I saw is his restoration of the bike after the trip.

He was last seen on the back of a Harley somewhere between Malibu and Monterry; aka the beach route.

Ah, see, I knew I had posted it before. The blog is certainly easier to keep track of. :)

As for Badsally, he's officially on my ignore list as of now, I can see he never has anything worthwhile to contribute ...I think he needs to get back on his meds! lol

What is the status of your restoration Zenmoto..? You have to get together with Reg, Jason and myself for a ride...........Or at least be at SLO 2011 if that happen.

The old meds dodge again? Almost as boring as riding bitch on a Harley up 101.. I did like the story about the cross country trip. Kind of reminded me of a Russian novel.

The resto went fine. ...a few hundred in worn out, corroded beyond repair, or just plain missing parts, and a lot of wrenching got the old girl into like-new condition. I never did get the suspension sorted out though, and just didn't want to dump another grand into it, so I recently sold her and bought the new 1200.

I hope to copy this all into a blog post here so it's easy to find, but here's a link to the thread I started back in the day.
    http://vfrworld.com/forums/mechanics-garage/23608-cleaning-up-new-me-old-beast.html

For whatever reason, maybe it was the crappy suspension, maybe it was the FI, I never bonded with that bike the way I did my '96. This was painfully obvious by the meager 20k miles over the 20 months I had on her vs. the 86k miles I put on the '96 in the 2 years I had that bike.

Now that I've got the 1200 and my built up XR650R for desert/Baja use, I'm going to be putting the KTM up on the block as well. Awesome bike, but can't do the miles on it as the upright seating position hurts my lower back (old sports injury-for-life); I need the sporty riding position to do anything over a 300 mile day.

I'm always up for a ride, but I'm a ways north of you. Next time you guys are heading up the coast, give me a shout! ...and if SLO 2011 happens, I'll do my best to attend! :)

    Cheers!

That would be cool to have a 1200 in the pack for SLO.
