I have to do something with the exhaust on the 01 that I bought this spring. The front down pipes, are especially hideous.

I'm OK with the performance of the bike as is, and I'd rather not have to buy a PC, and have it tuned, etc.

Jet-Hot wants aprox $225. That's not too bad, but then there's the shipping both ways, which would total another $50.

There is a local guy that started a Riflesmithing shop a couple of years ago. He Cerikotes a lot of the guns he turns out. I've ridden with him a few times years ago, hence the connection. He says he is willing to Cerikote it, which would be very cool. I've looked at the Cerikote website. That stuff looks to be the real deal. But I'd like to hear what you guys think.

Can it stand the heat? They get over 1200 degrees or more I believe.

Jet Hot does the inside and the outside.

What Lint said! Double check the temperature ratings of the colors your going to use. Just randomly checking a few colors on Cerakote Coatings website I found varying temp ranges. One color was good for up to 900 another up to 2000.

Cerikote has a diverse product line. They have a product specifically for high heat/headers. If you have time, check out their website. They have a video, in which they take a short length of what appears to be muffler pipe, half Cericoted, the other not. They take a torch, and get it glowing red. Then dunk it in water! Then dry it off, and it looks like new. I would do satin black, so it looks "factory".

I've heard good and bad about Jet-Hot. They coat the inside for just a couple of inches, not the whole length. That makes sence to me.

I broke down and ordered the Delkevic this afternoon.

I think I'll be satisfied with it.
