    Sub-title: VFR-Chick’s Mini-Meet and Ducati Track Day

So, our very own VFRChick (who kicks major ass, btw) hosted a VFRW mini-meet here in Lost-Wages NV.

It was a kick-ass event riding VFR through the area, including Red Rock, followed by Duc track day where we were Riding HyperMotards and Monsters.

    Pics to follow shortly.
Sorry guys, no hot tub pix.....:drool::drool:

The only thing I don't like about Ducati's looks is the erector set frame. I would find them much more attractive if the frames were a little more substantial looking. Kinda like a hot chick with her bones poking through her skin. Have a sammich and get back to me.

Man, the track was awesome!! I was really surprised... for a "demo day" they let us go pretty fast. I saw 103 on the back straight! They had a leader that was supposed to keep a safe pace, then there was one guy ahead of me who was a little scared... kept taking weird lines and braking at the wrong times. So, I kept my eyes way ahead to make my own lines and I watched where the leader cut in on the turns and copied. I almost passed the guy ahead of me in the turns a few times, but we weren't allowed to pass so I didn't. There aren't many people who can say they did their first track day for free on a Ducati!! :) The Hyper-retard (as we affectionately call it) is an incredible bike! I got on it, thinking it would not handle well on the track, but it was amazing. Light, flickable, plenty of torque! The VFR is a dog after riding that thing!! Got down in the turns real easy, I was sliding off the seat and had my knee out like a good girl and there were times I swear I felt like I was horizontal!! Like the tires were up off the ground, even with the handlebars and I was gonna take off. I did have a little difficulty in the "S-turn", but after a few laps I got the hang of that a little better. The leader (Fast Track instructor) came up to me afterwards and told me I did a good job and he liked my riding. One of the other riders that was a few bikes behind walked by, gave me a thumbs up and said I did a great job and he was impressed with my riding. So, how was the track, Bubba asks?!! It was a piece of cake!! And, I LOVED it!!

Born2Run hung out at one of the corners and took pics of us as we came around. We'll have to wait for him to post his pics... Patrick, get your damn pics posted already!!

Marrib and Flailer, thank you so much for coming out and being such great guests!! You are welcom anytime!! Born2Run, glad you and your dad could come hang out with us... and thanks for even bringing my attention to this event!! If it wasn't for you, I'm not sure I would have known about or gone to it!! And thanks for letting me ride your ZX-14... ahem 7th gen VFR!! What an awesome bike!! And you can ride my VFR anytime.

When you sign up, they make you give them your insurance info. and sign a waiver. I didn't read it, but I was told afterward that it says if you damage the bike you pay for it... so if it's not covered by insurance, I guess the guy has to cough up the bucks...

They did alternating demos and "real" track time for guys with their own Ducatis. Those guys were allowed to let it out and the guy who broke his collarbone was one of them... so, he will be taking care of his own expenses... OUCH!!

The next time there is a free one.... as much as I loved it (as you knew I would BZ!) I just have a tough time coughing up $200.00 to do that... or more for a class. I know it's worth it, and when I get to that point where I've got money flowing out my ears, I'll do it. For now, I have to choose wisely where I spend the bucks.... maybe you can all chip in and buy me a track day for Christmas!!

Then there was the guy who got black flagged. He was riding a monster and went off the track twice in the first lap. No one wanted to ride next to him.

He gets the black flag to pit and misses the pit off ramp. So he stops his bike in the middle of finish straight, turns it around and heads back into traffic. There are 50 screaming people. He pulls it off to the inside of the track, stops and jump off. A ducati guy runs across straight #1 and gets on the bike and rides it about 100yds into the middle of the grass area, waits for the riders to pass and makes it to the pit. The rider did not get to ride anymore.

Same guy almost lost it on take off on the hyper'retard'. He had problems getting his foot/clutch/throttle all on the same page. I think Flailer was following him on the first ride and he said the guy was terrible.
