Anyone have experience with a full Yoshi system vs. the stock exhaust on an '87 VFR700F2? My bike came with the Yoshi system when I bough it, but I'm thinking about returning it to showroom stock. It's just too close mechanically and cosmetically to being showroom perfect.

Would I be losing much performance? I could do without the extra noise as well.

It looks like these Yoshi's are hard to find and I'm guessing it wouldn't be too hard to find someone to trade with me.

probably not...is it a single exhaust?
I have stock 86 mufflers..but they are a little scratched up....

your bike may have been re-jetted when the aftermarket pipes were added...not sure if it will affect a "return to stock " system....

Probably not a full system (very rare) but using Yosh can on stock stainless headers ?????

Yosh IS loud but maybe it needs a re-pack with fibreglass.

That setup saves about 25 pounds compared with stock mufflers !!

Maybe just my age but I think you are on the right path with going to stock, looks better and and they still sound pretty good.

I think stock O.E. is real good for ALL around plain street riding w/ a stage 1 jet kit,you still retain plenty,if not all of the stock low rpm-mid rpm performance;now if you like to do some street racing you may want to keep the YOSHI on there and just continue to fine tune your jetting depending on the conditions.

Wow! I might trade to lose that much weight. However I'm not very interested if I can't get the yoshi sound down within reason or if it's a pain to re-jet. I actually like the sound of stock.

Anyway, mine are a bit scratched. Might be able to polish out, but it would probably make more sense to find a speed freak (which I ain't) to do a trade with.

Is anyone interested in a trade? I haven't heard from kabutaboy in a while and don't know if he's interested anymore. I believe this 4 into 2 into 1 system slips onto the existing headers. I have pics if you're interested.
