KBB says $2400 in excellent condition. With no tittle I would offer $1000.

No Title Means: STAY AWAY in giant bold print.

I agree been stolen or they can get you a replacement title through the DMV.

So, I pretty much have no intention of buying this haha even though it would be cool to have. I emailed the guy just for the hell of it, and the information I gathered is as follows: The pictures are current. When he took it out of storage the tank was rusted. He bought a new tank, new battery, and put in all new fluids - and it started right up. He doesnt know how to get the title and doesnt have the time to try.

Honestly I dont think its stolen though!! This is the big island..Nobody in their right mind would post this stolen bike on a public forum in such a small town kind of place.

But damn if he did take $1000 - what do you guys think it would take to get this thing Titled? I have never dealt with a no title vehicle..Ill ask him if he has any paperwork at all - like an old registration, plates....and if the bike was registered into storage in the first place.

See if you can get the VIN and check at the local DMV. If everything checks out, then it is worth a shot.

Not to lazy to buy a new tank a battery etc.. but he doesn't have time to file for a lost title? I would really question the miles as well. Ask him for the vin numbers so you can do a check on the bike. If he is willing everything may be okay. But my guess is someone wanted an insurance check but didn't want to give up the bike. So they stashed it and claimed it was stolen. Either way it sounds awful suspicious.

at a minimum do this before you think about handing over any cash. I'd be very surprised if it was legit or the guy would do it himself.

If the paper work checks out OK at the DMV and the seller is the actual owner of the bike, it should be pretty straight forward to get the title. Either ask the seller to accompany you to the DMV or see if a notarized letter works. A call to the DMV might be worth. 1000 will be a great deal for the F

Yea pretty good points..Ill definitely check out then VIN. Like I said I dont even know if I should even be contemplating this lol. I have a bike, busy with school..But on the other hand - Im a sucker for deals, and if this thing can be on the road for around a thousand bucks I could make a couple extra bucks or have 2 slick bikes hahah. I dont need to explain myself, im 100% sure everyone knows exactly what im talking about hahah

In Vermont, you can get a fresh title for any vehicle (that checks out with the DMV) over 15 years old. If this was a fantastic deal, I'd have no qualms about scooping it up and sitting on it for another 3 years...

Cool thats something i should look into for Hawaii.. I sent another email to the seller asking him for a little more details. Havent heard from him yet - And if I dont hear from him in another couple of days ill assume some of you are right and he did in fact steal the thing 12 years ago lol. If not maybe he just doesnt want to deal with someone who actually wants to be thorough about the situation. I know theres a lot of people in hawaii who wouldnt care about if it was legal or not, so long they had it and it was a good deal.
