After fitting heated grips I got to thinking wouldn't it be nice to have a heated jacket, so I did a bit of research on Internet and thought they were a bit expensive, so it calls for a little bit of DIY. Back to ebay, ordered a set of heated seat carbon fibre element including wiring ie relay and switch for £13.50 and free postage, arrived a few days later. Layed my alpinestars textile jacket on kitchen table zipped out lining, the good thing about the heating element is that they have self adhesive on two sides so are easy to fit to the lining. You get two heating pads one for the back of the seat and one you sit on. Where to put them on the lining, I decided to fit them both from centre of back one going left one right so they Suround my middle, The self adhesive strips stick well just need to sew the edges and connect the wiring of the two pads and route the wires down the left sleeve, i connected a simple Dc Jack to wire. Fixing a female Jack and the high and low switch to the inside fairing just below the handle bars, I wired them in to the heated grips relay with a fuse in line. When all done it was time for testing to see if all working. Jacket heats up real nice.
