Soooo, what in tarnation are these "Hyper-Lite" thingys? Just some flashing LED's that are activated by the brake/turn signal? Not sure if I am sold on them yet.

Only winter...well, a san diego riding winter..that I am doing is putting on some heated grips. I just ordered some Oxford hot grips, and low and behold, my chick gave me some heated coil wraps for my bars just 2 days ago....

OK I'm in. As it has been raining a bit in my hood, I have taken the time to be working on what used to be my bone stock '06. I bought it new a couple months ago. Some of the mods are completed others are in progress and almost all (Except ZG DB) should be completed by 22 December. Needless to say, I've managed to keep myself quite entertained over the last 2-3 weeks. Accessories are a great way to learn your way around a new machine.

    1. Leo Vince Evo II Carbon Cans - Baffle removed
    2. Dynojet O2 Eliminators
    3. BMC Air Filter
    4. Heli Bars
    5. Sargent Seat w/carbonfx and Honda pearl white piping
    6. Light Smoke ZG Sport Touring Screen
    7. Red ZG Double Bubble Screen (In manufacture by ZG, 2-3 weeks out)
    8. Powerlet Left Fairing Kit
    9. Pazzo Racing Levers Red W/black adjusters
    10. Sargent Super Bag tank bag
    11. Luggage Locker Seat Sak black and silver
    12. Aerostich Stem Stand
    13. BEL Vector 995
    14. CTEK smart charger

    Mods planned for Early 2007:

    1. Ohlins Shock
    2. Ohlins Fork Springs
    3. Suspension set up by Lindeman Engineering
    4. Pearl White Honda Hard Bags
    5. Tanker truck of gas!

Holy Cow, those aren't mods, that's a new bike! I'm jealous of the Sargen Seat. That's on my list for later down the road.

Yeah, those do look like they increase visibility. Cool. I this is not another thing like all of the people who take off their blinkers and put them in their brakelight (like my brother). It just DECREASES visibility, and is a cheesy thing to do....IMO.

I like to do everything pretty much at once and get it done. I did all of the planning and window shopping prior to getting the bike. I saved the mod cash while I was getting the cash together for the bike.

I'm still kind of sitting on the fence concerning the Power Commander, I was going to install a PCIII USB, but a couple of folks have told me that they aren't worth it - I haven't seen any real good dyno info for the 6th Gen, although I have seen some that I am skeptical of.............. I sent a message to the folks at Kyle Racing Engines in Sand City (Monterey), CA this morning to ask their opinion, but I haven't heard back from them yet. I think the Dynojet O2 eliminators accomplished what I wanted without having to spend $300.00 or to mess around with a pair valve blockoff. If I do get some info back from Kyle that convinces me, I'll definately do it. I'll keep you all posted on what they say and put it up here.

BTW - Derstuka, I don't have any kids, but I practice alot with my lady, LOL!

Soul Glo, I agree with you. I purchased the mounting bracket that will go behind the liscense plate so I can mount them to the side, under the brake light.
I ordered the standard universal kit which is for the brake light only. I don't really care about them being turn signals.
I like a clean, stock unit look.

Ok you guys here are the answers that I got directly from Dan Kyle at Kyle Racing engines concerning the PCIII USB. Please note that Mr. Kyle has been named AMA Tuner of the Year twice, I believe that would answer any questions concerning his credibility. I am convinced, bring on the PCIII USB!

    Good Morning Dan,

I am considering a PCIII USB for my 2006 VFR and I wanted to bounce a couple of things off of you. I just installed Leo Vince Evo II Carbon Cans, Dynojet O2 eliminators and a BMC filter.

Q1. I have been told that the PCIII really doesn't provide much of a return for the investment, what is your opinion?

    A. Yes we hear that a lot. From people that have never tried a Power Commander. My brother also has a VFR800 I sent him one, do you think I would waste my own money? WE simply offer a money back policy, if YOU do not think it is worth it send it back for a full refund.

Q2. Are you still a Dynojet tuning center?
    A. Yes

Q3. Do you folks still provide custom mapping services?
    A. Yes

Q3a. If so, what are the associated labor rates involved in doing this - I am just looking for a ballpark number to get a budget idea.
    A. $300

Q4. What would the (estimated) real world benefit be, after installing a PCIII and throwing the thing on the dyno for a custom map?
    A. Not much, I would try a Dyno jet map, and I think you will be happy with the improvement.

Q5. Do you provide any "packages" for purchasing a PCIII from you and getting it tuned by you?
A.No, as we already discount the Power Commanders.

I think that sums it up, a two time AMA tuner of the year does not recommend spending the cash on custom mapping  - how honest was that answer? He does recommend the PCIII USB for 6th Gen VFR's. OK I'm going with Mr. Kyles recommendations! Add PCIII USB to the list of winter mods previously submitted

All right, which one of you folks knows where to get the best deal on a PCIII USB?

    Just bought:
    PCIII USB
    O2 Eliminators
    K&N Air Filter
To be bought in January: Leo Vince CF Exhaust
Already have sweet tires and lights but also getting:
Sylvania Silverstar Ultra H7 for High Beams
Two LED strips for under the tail (one blue for normal riding, one red which activated when the brakes lights do and deactivates the blue LEDs)

I really want Ohlins Suspension, but I need to rob some banks first!!!

Wouldn't it make sense to buy it from Dan, since he gave you excellent customer service? Isn't his help worth a couple extra bucks? His willingness to take time to advise & help you, isn't worth sometheing?

Hey Guys; What is a kuryakyn led battery? Is it a dry cell type or am I way off base,or is it even the 12 volt battery that runs the electrical system and
how does it differ from the standard one? eddie

P.S- I agree with Spike, if Dan spent that much time responding to your e-mail you should really buy the power commander from him.

    Battery Voltmeter (Kuryakyn)

    Hey Eddie,

It's actually a Battery Voltmenter. I was wanting to install a analog gauge, but there wasn't really any room without drilling a hold into the painted part of the fairing........and I could not bring myself to do that.
Everything I read about the Kuryakyn Battery Voltmeter was positive and it's small enough to mount just about anywhere.
They come in either chrome or black. I chose the black to match the bike.
