    Hi Guys,

I'd appreciate your view on whether this OEM shock will fit my 97 VFR750. It was sold as a 97 fit but on closer inspection my current shock does not have the adjustment mechanism on it like this one does.

I have done a fair bit of reading and intend to have this one reconditioned and replace my rusty original - if it is the correct fit.

If it is correct I guess it goes with the adjuster on the left at the top? Seems that maybe the hole in the bike's beam frame is to allow adjustment?

    Many thanks
    Dave

If the adjuster is missing, you might not have the OEM shock installed, and hole is for adjuster, yes.

I took a good look at the oem shock I took off my 1995. It looks identical to the photo of yours. Hope that helps.

Thanks Guys, that's great. Looks like I have a non stock shock on the bike, perhaps from an earlier VFR.
    Cheers

OK so I got the old shock off. Problem. New shock on the left, old shock on the right. The eye on the replacement shock has too large a diameter for the bolt - looks like it needs a spacer. The spacer from the old shock (when I drifted it out) will not fit the new shock - it is too wide. So where can I get a spacer to sit inside the new shock and what size should it be?

In the meantime I've cleaned the old shock up and put it back to stay on the road...

Thanks for any sagely wisdom Guys.:peaceful:

Can you just measure the bolt diameter and the hole on the shock and get a replacement bushing at any hardware store?

Thanks, unfortunately hardware shops here do not stock this sort of thing. I will ask the shock refurb company when I send it away
