I'm looking for a Fanstat (fans switch) that comes on about 10 degrees earlier than my stock oem one. I see the Napa FS-130 and other similar aftermarket ones have been used in other Honda's but want to be sure it's not too long or wrong size/thread for 87 VFR700.

Just measured one of my collection (5) of defunct Honda thermoswitches removed over the years.......outer diameter of threads is 16mm, and length of protrusion is 11mm on one, 15mm on another.

    They switch on @ 212F./100 C.

Adding a manual switch in parallel with your thermoswitch could help.

Excellent, I found a couple that will kick the fan on earlier and I'm adding a manual switch allso. The Napa FS-130 is $50 but I found the same specs on the Beck/Arnley WorldParts 201-0817 on Ebay for $22. These were for 83 and other years Honda Accord 16MM...Temperature Rating:On At 191-198 Deg F.; Off At 182-189 Deg F. Descending Temperature.

    . Thank's for info

Yea! Fat Albert, when I flew down from PBI on weekends I marked a big red X on the chart, it's a long fall if you hit the cable in midair and shear a wing off.
