Will a Magna VF700C engine fit in a VF500 frame

I was wondering if a Magna 700 engine will fit in a VF500 frame and if so are the carbs different or just jetted differently. I am having trouble finding an engine for my 84 VF500 Interceptor, it has a cracked case. I have sourced a reasonable priced Magna engine. Also can the piece that makes it shaft drive be removed and just slap a sprocket on there for chain drive?

 

I`m thinking the engine is too big & the mounting points are different & i allredy looked at doing this on an interceptor but all the part numbers for even the same year engine are different on the Magna & interceptor. What about trying to find a V30 Magna engine (also chain drive)
