I recently bought a wrecked 91 model and the rear wheel is trash (40 MPH into a tree = real bad) and those things are real hard to find...but I have a 5th gen (black 5 spoke I think and same 4 bolt pattern) rear wheel just lying around from an old bike. Any body know if this will mount up? ...have any suggestions? My e-mail is freebilbo@excite.com. Thanks in advance.

P.S. I'm also looking for a left red upper in descent shape. my number is (512) 292-4720 and I'm in Austin, TX.

    Yes, and no..

The bolt pattern is the same, but the earlier hub has protruding areas around the bolts which require cut outs in the wheel. These cut outs are not present in any of the 800 - generation, so the wheel can be fitted, but only after modification. The earlier wheels, ie 3rd and 4th gen can be fitted to all later bikes without mods.

I have a gold 8 spoke; it is the original '91 color. Also have an 8 spoke in white. Send email for pics; $300.00 for either one or your black 5 spoke plus $100.00 in trade.
