I dont notice anything if i hold the handle bars, but if i let go and im going anywhere from about 25 - 45 the front starts shaking, depending on the speed its pretty bad.

i dont have any fairing on the left side, i dont notice it goign slow, or fast 55ish + it doesent shake at all.

    tire not balanced correctly?

Most likely a bad tire but checking the head set is in order as well.

    saw your other post: http://vfrworld.com/forums/general-vfr-discussions/32641-why-my-rear-end-gigglin-around.html

    check in order:
inadequate pressures - you should run @ the manufacturer recomendation usually in the 36psi range
tire wear - look for cupping on the sides of your tires (abnormal wear)
lift the front of the bike (on your centerstand if you have one) and wiggle the tire up and down, if there is any play your HEADSTOCK BEARINGS are shot and need replacement
Order a set from allballs racing (usually $34) and take to the honda dealer for installation ($75-90) or look for the numerous threads via search on how to replace

I found mine would shake worse and worse as tyre pressure dropped over time... keep it at 36psi
Aa well, a new tyre (Michelin Pilot Road 2CT) made heaps of difference over the well worn Bridgestone
    No shake now.... :)

another possibility: improper preload setup on front and/or rear suspension, and/or improper front fork height. If the front forks are set too low, this type of thing can happen (coupled with other symptoms like falling into a corner).

i think it must be the tire, i know its sat on the shelf long enough for the label to be well faded. it wasent doing it with the old tire.

question is can the balancing cause this? if so i can go back to honda and ask them to re balance it for me. if not there is no need to bother them.

going to a dealer, a full mount/remount (with the tire off the bike) is like $25 around here. A balance check should be free and weights (if out of balance) would be $5 tops asa there is almost no labor. With tires ON the bike plan on $30 or so (about 1/2 hour labor)

I'm a fan of always starting with the easy stuff.

You said it wasn't doing it with your previous tire, so that would seem to indicate something's wrong with the recently mounted. I'd definitely have the balance checked, and if the dealer did the original install, you shouldn't have to pay for that again.

Front tire, swing arm bushings , or shock mount bushings.

When the front bearings are worn it does not usually shake, it just won't correct.

    Fixed.

Although I don't see/understand how shock mount bushing could have anything to do with this?

Tighten the steering head bearings. It needs a little bit of drag.
