Why have an RR when you can own a VFR and do this?

    What a well balanced ride. Goes to prove Viffers don't really excel in one single category but they potentially can do everything really well.

    Has anyone taken the viffer offroading?:congratulatory:

    OK, he's good at following.

    Critique.

    1. He's awful stiff, wings out, sitting down.
    2. He's not smooth due to above.

    Yes, a decent pilot on a well tuned VFR can keep up with most RR's on a twisty, it's made for that. Gets a little dicey on long sweepers and tracks though. Now, a RC45, it's a dofferent tune altogether.

    I ride with people from the local Ducati dealership and I keep up, but that is in twisty tight canyons. It's fun, but I am under no delusions that on a more open road, I wouldn't be handed my lunch. One of the guys I semi-regularly ride with rides a Multistrada two up and on a rode with more open sweepers, I have to ride pretty hard to stay with them. I'm solo, he's not. I've even ended up with a blue back tire doing this, so it's no putting around town. Yes, I kept up with him and yes, the VFR could still go harder, but he had a freaking passenger!

    That said, I love my RHonda. I can go across town or across country, straight lines or Dragon Tails and I never really have much thought on doing either. I know that she has a lot more to give than I know how to do, so, all in all, I paid $3800 for her when I got her a couple of years back and I am still riding with bikes that cost nearly ten times that amount!!

    By the way, the video reminds me of a Euro version of the Malibu Mountains. Looks like a fun road to ride, thanks for sharing!

    Excellent late braking jp, thought for a moment that was a one way road untill the red truck passed......looks like fun. Deffinatley a narrow road.

    Gets dicey and wobbly on long sweepers alright and it isn't the best track bike, its heavy and lacks a firm suspension setup but hey, I guess Honda didn't call it the interceptor for nothing! Heheh.

    I personally own the non catted 5th gen - And it is what it is, a heavy albeit easy to ride, excellent alrounder. You can use it everyday without having the need to replace your wrists and back after each ride. It will keep up with most RR's in plenty of scenarios and with half the investment on maintenance - Bomb Proof- The Engine with correct servicing is potentially good for 400.000 miles or more. Mine is up to 92.000km and running like the first day. Doesn't sip the slighest drop of oil between 8000/10000km change intervals. Ask the multistrada owner when he plans unloading some good amount of cash for an engine rebuild, needless to say a 7th gen would have kept up no problems 2up!

    Its not the dog in the fight, its the fight in the dog. I've ridden with guys that own all sorts of bikes, I put myself in the middle pack with regards riding skills. I'm in it for the ride, not bragging rights & I know when its time to back off. I have a friend that owns a Suzuki GSX1400 (naked bike), that scares the shit out of everyone, he has to be in front, will overtake any where, regardless of lines, corners & the odd logging truck. Trouble with this attitude, when he finally comes undone, he's going to take one or more with him. If your in front, he's like the guy in the vid, all over the place & you see him there in the mirrors. Makes it hard for you to commit, as you never know where the bugger is going to try & pass.........
    So we let him.

    Had a friend like that, after almost pushing me into oncoming traffic just to pass me , he was eighty sixed.....never rode with him again. Enough to worry about, not a friend tryin to prove something. JMO

    I still like the RR better then my VFR1200. It's really light and leans just smoothly.

    I'm trying to trade in my VFR for the RR but nobody wants it.... In fact I had it posted for almost 2 full days for $5,000 and no single inquiry.

    He's riding old school. Staying on the centre of the seat without hanging off, and letting his tires do all the work. His knee is at most a few inches from the ground on most corners. If he hung off he would be grinding his unprotected knees into the ground. Seems like he's riding fine to me.

    I agree completely. You don't have to hang off the bike like a track star to ride fast on the street.

    :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:Yall do know pro racers did not drag there knees for many years. They jus gift had an extra layer of leather on the knees. The knee should only be down to have an extra feel on the road. It really does nothing for you. Its all about weight placement on the pegs. Maybe if you think your Rossi you lifted your bike like a miracle saving a low side. :Rolleyeys:
