Post up you gas prices in your area. This was taken in San Francisco on April 11th. If I wasn't in need I would have passed this place by.

I have to say, I just love it when I hear Americans complain about the prices of fuel

No offence ment what so ever by that, but when you look at the rest of the world, you guys aren't doing too bad. At the moment here in Switzerland, a litre of normal fuel is currently about $1.83 which is about $7.30 per gallon. And we've got the cheapest fuel in Europe. When you have a look at the prices in the UK, it really makes you feel ill.

Fuel prices there are about $2.27 per litre which is $9.08 per gallon!!

Mind you 80% of that is tax...

Still, when you guys talk about prices at around $3 per gallon (well, a US Army friend of mine who can fill up on the base), it stings a bit. I remember filling up my car at 0.70 pence per litre. Even if you do the exchange rate at 2 to 1 (which it was when I was buying fuel at those prices), thats still less than $3 per gallon.

Still, with things in the Middle East as they are at the moment, I can't see it getting any cheaper for some time.......

I've literally had to stop driving my car right now and rely 100% on my bike. When you only get about 10 mpg around town, 2 wheels begins to make a hell of a lot of sense.............

I have no pics, but I filled up my truck today at an off brand station. (Here in Jersey). It was $3.68 for 89 octane. Figure 10-12 cents less for regular, and 10-12 cents more for premium.

I know we have it good (i.e. cheap) in Jersey. I was upstate NY with a friend this weekend, and filled his truck with regular at $3.85. Lucky for me it only needed 32 of the 36 gallons it holds. A cool $125 to fill it up.

Many of our stations charge more for credit versus cash.

Is Jersey the only state left where its the LAW that you cannot pump your own gas?

Oregon has similar legislation. Never had any problem pumping gas into my bikes. I think the Oregon thing is mostly to provide jobs. NJ is a mystery. Seems like the Sopranos are running the whole state. ;)

I've actually been wanting to ask you guys what you pay for fuel in America. A quick sum (R10 a litre, 7:1 exchange rate) has us paying about $1.42 a litre. The price is government controlled so regionally we all pay the same price.

NJ & OR are the only two where you can't pump your own gas. Last time I checked (over a decade ago) NJ called it an "Environmental" program. It was sold to the public as a means to prevent fuel spillage by only having trained people dispense fuel. Anyone with half a brain knows that's utter bullshit. The "trained professionals" are normally teenagers who don't care about your vehicle or the sterotypical middle eastern gas station attendant. Simply put, it was a way for the liberal politicians to guarantee jobs to the unskilled.

None of this matters to me since I get gas on base 90% of the time. On the bike, I've only been to 2 stations that wouldn't allow me to put gas into my bike. When that happened, I simply got back on the bike & went to the next station. I DO NOT allow the "trained professionals" to put fuel in my bike.

    KC-10 FE out...

I was joking too. I've sold my oil futures though. So now would be a good time to stop so I can buy back in. Then hey meet new people and kill em, see new places and blow them up. All good Durka durka.

Usually when someone from the Bay Area posts "why does my ass hurt?" on an internet forum the answer is: try Crisco.

Sorry, it was there, I had to use it, its the law I think.......

Oh my! Ol KC is railing again about anyone who is not feeding at the Gubbamint trough. In the interim we have found actual dream footage of one of KC's nocturnal emissions.
