Why can't I post a reply in a particular thread?

    Curious....there is a post I wanted to reply to, but can't ???

The posting rules box at the bottom of the page indicates I "may not" post replies to that thread.

    Whats up?

That seems to be the only post I encounter this. I pull up any other post and I can reply, with the posting rules box indicating I "may" post replies ???

What makes that one thread different??

Any Mod help would be appreciated.

Those are probably the "mailing list" threads that you are referring to. You cannot reply to those unless you subscribe to the e-mail mailing list and get like a bazillion e-mails of all sorts of stuff.

That might also be why when I didn't have a way to PM the author, and when I did a search for that user name, it came back saying that was an invalid user name ?? Maybe he is just on the email list and not a member??

Anyway, here is a link to the thread in question.

I'm one of the Aprilia's that was at Reg's, but the name is Randy. Tony was the other guy.

Also, to end the dilema, it does appear that this was a post from the email list. The thread had a link, which had an email contact so I had sent the guy an email, and he responded, this is what he said.

    Randy:<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Not sure how my message made it over to VFR World. My comment was posted
    to the vfr (vfr@cs.wisc.edu) list.

So, I guess I never knew that VFR World was posting threads from the email list...???????

well, Michael added our link to the mailing list a long long time ago, and it is kind of convenient if you like to browse the messages occasionally but don't want your inbox loaded with stuff. I was on the mailing list for a while, but stopped it and decided I'd just stick with VFRWorld and if I see something that I need to reply to I can always sign back up for the mailing list and reply...
