Why can't I find an indoor dust cover??

Sometimes a seemingly easy task can turn into mission impossible!

I need a soft, fabric cover for indoor use, to protect the bike from dust and peeping eyes. How hard could it be??? Turns out, a LOT!

I thought I'd just pop round the local bike shops and get one. Much to my surprise I discovered that what I am looking for is basically non existant!! :frown:

All the covers I found are either made of PVC or out of an aluminized plastic material. :frown:

So I thought I might get some fabric and make a cover myself; however the prices I got for just 1m of cloth were exorbitant!

Ducati makes exactly what I am looking for, but it has a MAJOR disadvantage for me: it is painted bright red and has big a$$ white lettering saying "DUCATI SUPERBIKE"! Might as well spell "STEAL HERE"! :soapbox:

BTW, I have a dust cover by Oxford but I am not overly thrilled by it.


So, any suggestions on a discreet (pref. black) soft dust cover?

I just use a couple of old towels and drape them over the bike. Old beach towels work great. Plus towels will help protect the bike in case something should fall on it, like a broom handle or something. Or you could use an old blanket.

I have used a bedspread.

 

I use an old comforter to protect all the paint work, then use one of the plastic/PVC covers on top of that. Not to easy to take with you somewhere though.

 

The UK has them at available through local dealers.
Cost 100 euros, about $130.00 plus shipping.

Or you could just use a fitted full size sheet like I do.

 

I was thinking fitted sheet, the elastic around the bottom would help keep it on.

 

Roadgear used to offer one, don't know if they still do. For dust prevention, you could use a Geeza, although prying eyes can still see the bike.
