Would a 5th or 6th gen better suit the inseam challenged? I'm 5'6" with 29/30" inseam.

Another question is what is the difference between a '99 and '00? It's subtle, but they look different from some of the pictures I've seen.

I'm 5'9" with a 28/29" inseam, all body and no legs. I've never had a problem on any bike I've ever ridden.

5'4" 30" inseam, 6th gen is a wee bit tall but completely manageable. They also make a lowering kit for 6th gen if you so choose, I don't know about a 5th gen. 5th gen and 6th gen are so close I would wager that the seat height is the same, pick the one you like and ride the hell outta it. :welcome:

Sigma Cycles is the place for the lowering kit, or you can read the debate over lowering or not, or the triangle mod. I'm 5'8" with a 29 in inseam and went the triangle mod route with a shortened side stand from Sigma Cycles. I have a 6th gen that I bought in May and covered 3,000 miles since.

You have the same measurements as I do. I had a hard time on my RWB '07 VFR800 stock. (Read, dropped it) I followed some advice from these forums and got a lowering kit from Sigma Cycles. It was about $365 and installation wasn't so bad. This kit made the bike perfect. New York Biker

I'm on a 5th gen and have a 30" inseam and I ride mine no problem I can flat foot sitting still. I don't think you would have a problem with a 5th gen. The 6th gen is a bit taller and I couldn't flat foot it when sitting still but it was doable.
