Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has replaced their old gauges to the Trailtech Vapor. I see they have many model specific ones so I was wondering which would be the best one to buy to install on my 84 750.

They have "generic" ones, that have water cooled option, which I guess I could use, but maybe our bike is similar to like a CR450 or sumthing??

    Thanks for any input.

    Cheers,

    Chris

I have the TT Vapor on my DRZ400E it works super, mine the temp sensor screewed in place of my radiator bleed screew. You could call traltech and get some input from them. Speed sensor was a magnetic bolt to go in front rotor and a simple sensor then calibrate for wheel size, tach just a wire to the coil, 12V power full time for lighting it turns itself on and of on it's own. Great choice simple, lightweight, rugged and many functions. I paid $95 shipped on Ebay complete New.

I got one for my Yamaha 5oo single. There wasn't a specific model so I just bought one off of ebay for 75 dollars. It was made for some kind of Honda air cooled ATV. The main differences are the type of sensor for the heat gauge. I would call trailtech and ask them which model number they would recommend.

I don't have a battery in my 500 yet the unit works fine. It has an internal battery to maintain the settings. It reads pretty well with it's bright display.

Have the Vapor on my DR650.

As said, their phone support is great and they stand behind their product. Just give them a call and they'll make sure you get the right one.

The shift points are gay and distracting.

    Bump.

Did you ever install the Vapor gauge? Iv'e been thinking of doing the same thing, but read somewhere it may not work due to the "wasted spark system".

If you want something that looks good on a sport bike then you need to spend the money on a Koso.
