Anybody in the UK know where I can get replacement toolkit for my 03 VFR? I went to adjust the chain today for first time only to discover that the pin (C) spanner for moving the rear hub was missing. I ended up butchering the shock adjuster so I could use it so I need a new one of those as well now.

If you want the genuine article then search for this Honda part number 89010-MCW-D10

The full OEM kit will cost over £100 but can still be ordered through most Honda Dealers. There are slightly different kits for ABS/non ABS models (which have different rear suspension adjustment).

If you are lucky, used kits appear on eBay occasionally, but your best bet is to contact motorbike breakers. Larger places will probably have one or two Honda tool kits, just waiting for you.

Your question brings up these questions: Do you want a factory toolkit to preserve the bike package as OEM, say for the next owner? Or do you simply want tools to do the job even if they are not OEM?

Yes that would be nice if your dealer had a kit laying around. Of course it is probably the kit they should have given to the original buyer of your bike but did not, as the story goes.

Some of the OEM tools are the best to use, for example, the chain adjuster and it's extension handle are good items to have as they also serve as a prop for the tank. Much of the rest of the tools in the kit you can assemble with higher quality versions.

Here is an OEM supplier. I have bought from them so they should work for you. The chain adjuster is 13 euros:

The factory sparkplug wrench is almost a necessity due to the cramped quarters and limited access.
