The places I look online dont have the clutch kits for the vfr :( but you can get the cbr etc... all day long , I even called a few places that are online and they said they didnt have them for the vfr's , so I called the bike shops in town and they have the oem vfr clutch kit for around 201.00 and the barnett through them is really expensive and thats what I was after I will settle for OEM if I have to.So where do you get your clutch kit from and how much??Does anyone know a good online place that has them and wont have me parking my bike beside a cardboard box every night :) , cause i spent rent money on a overpriced clutch kit , any takers?? and thanks as always for the great communication guyz i'm sure i'm not the only one to come across this problem , I looked but I didnt see any other posts on the topic unless I just didnt look hard enough

Why oh Why do they make fairings , clutch kits etc..so hard to come by for our beloved machines , when it comes to the other bikes ninjas , cbr , gsxr its so easy to obtain them , it's like they forgot about the best ones :( the bastards!!!maybe one day I can open a parts catalog ,and see even a aftermarket chain guard for a vfr

    Try www.denniskirk.com

I couldn't get the specific page to link up here, but do a search. Go to "metric bikes" , then, I think, "engine and transmission" or something like that; then you should see an option for clutches. You can then search for your model / year bike. I found some discs there that may be what you're looking for. Hopefully this will help. I'm not at all mechanically knowledgeable but this site seems to have a lot of stuff.

I have ordered clutch parts from Dennis Kirk before. Everything I order from them is top notch and comes quickly.

As to your question about the lack of availability of VFR parts - here's my answer:

VFR owners are less likely to be squids who dump their bikes constantly, requiring body work. Available supply is based on demand, hence, more body parts available for the GSX-R's, CBR's, YZF's, Ninjas, etc...

The same goes for wear items, as I assume VFR riders are less likely to constantly beat on their machines. Clutches/chains/sprockets/brake pads are all more readily available for the squid-killer machines.

Plus, the VFR is a little rarer than the average crotch rocket, so fewer machines=less aftermarket support.

I can't say that my experience with Dennis Kirk has been as satisfactory as VT Viffer's. They screwed up my brake/clutch line order three times, and each time tried to charge me to return their screw-up to them. This after specifically having them specify what they were sending, and then getting the opposite configuration. By the time I got done, it would have been cheaper and simpler to pay stealership prices.

I HAVE had excellent service, great prices and fast orders on factory parts done right every time when mail ordering from University Motors, both for my FJ1200 and the VFR. I would highly recommend them.

Mike is a street rider, has an FJ1200 so you're not just dealing with a snowmobile or watersports guy there who's guessing about bike parts.

That kit on ebay that reg posted up is what I have in my '93 (although I bought the pieces separately), and I really like the hook up. That's also a really good deal compared with what I remember spending doing mine.

I did NOT know that! I have Yoko's on my car, and their performance tires are excellent. Certainly (if true) this *might* the Shinko's in a totally different class than the Maxxis (Cheng Shin owned) or Tomohawk (retread) tires.

My only concern is that if Yoko is not prepared to put their name on them, why? Are they a lower end budget line they don't want to dilute their image with, and if so what will the impact be on the performance or life of the tire?

Interested in hearing how you find them on your bike.
