A lot of the posts have been sorta negative and even a bit punchy lately. Figured I'd start another lighthearted thread like my 'Yay Beer' thread (which deserved more replies, IMHO)....that being said, like the title asks, what is the music you enjoy listening to? We can learn a lot about one another by finding out what we listen to....

Here's some of my current favorites:

Rock: Tool: 10,000 days. Enhances my workouts better than most suppliments can.
Jazz: Dave Brubeck: Love Songs. When I study medical literature this is my
    background noise of choice.
Classical: Joshua Bell: Voice of the Violin. Saw him in concert at Duke. Simply put:
    He's a genius.
Techno/Electronic: Justice: Cross. Shaves minutes off your run time.
Alternative/Other: Radiohead: In Rainbows: Nothing like it out there. Brilliant.
Country: George Strait: 50 number ones: Great collection from a great singer
Hip-Hop: Beastie Boys: Pauls Boutique: An all-time classic that can never be copied

OK, let's hear them!! I need to add some good stuff to my library......

I wonder if Metallic, once one of my favorite bands, will pull their heads out of their butts & start making kick ass music again?

man!! Hondabill!! not sure how I left it out!!!

Classic Rock: Led Zep (I LOVE virtually all thier music, 'Hey, Hey what can I do' is my fav with 'When the levee breaks' as a close second.

Have all of Black Sabbath's stuff too, with the Wizard being my fav. tune by them

KC--Metallica really went down the John last few albums. What the 'F'?? I saw them in 93 when stationed in HI. Unbeliveable then, garbage now.

Ever see "Some Kind Of Monster"? The 4 of them sit around & bitch at each other thru the whole movie. If I wanted to see that, I would visit my parents. If their next album sucks as bad as their last, they are finished.

Doubtful!! Most stuff after Kill 'Em All wasn't worth listening to.

I am a fan of metal - black, death, thrash, prog, etc etc

    Bands:
    Ceremonial Castings
    Pagan Altar
    Tyr
    Moonspell
    King freakin Diamond
    Mercyful Fate
    Saattue
    Judas Priest
    Motorhead
    Motley Crue
    Twisted Sister
    Vermefug
    Belphegor
    Candlemass
    69 Eyes
    Moonsorrow
    Depeche Mode

I also love most things 80s, jazz, and I loooove classical. I have a pretty extensive background in music, beginning in grade school. By the time I was in high school I played almost every instrument in band, and accordion. Today I only play bass and sadly not as often as I should (too many dang hobbies). I was also head drum major for my last two years in high school.

    I'm all over the map.

I'm a rock/metal guy along the lines of Pearl Jam to Iron Maiden. I also like electronic music along the lines of Daft Punk and FischerSpooner.

Alice in Chains, Trivium, Metallica, Muse, Rammstein, Dragonforce, Pink Floyd, etc.

I'll have to second the all over the map statement; my personal collection runs the gamut from Mozart to Slayer & just about every genre in between. Most recent selections have included AC/DC, Puddle of Mud, Green Day, Judas Preist, Sugar Ray, Belushi/Akroyd, Flogging Molly, Johnny Cash, Collective Soul, Bryan Adams, Blink 182 & Limp Bizkit. Thats just been what I've listened to in the cage over ther last few days.:drum:

Well like some of you depends upon the mood, but punk is probably my favorite genre and I enjoy some GOOD 80's bands too.

    First up is punk:

Dead Kennedy's (Best Punk Band evah!)
    The Hives
    Minor Threat
    The Ramones
    Dead Milkmen
    The Buzzcocks
    The Pixies
    Iggy& The Stooges

    Some 80's bands I love:

    The Smith's
    Echo & the Bunnymen
    The Cure
    The Church
    U2
    INXS
    Psychadelic Furs
    Depech Mode

More Modern Bands/ Singers I love:

    The White Stripes
Radiohead (for you Radiohead fans, if you haven't seen them in concert, you NEED TO! Awesome live is all I can say)
    Postal Service
Atmosphere (really good rap for those who hate rap!)
    Moby
    Modest Mouse

The above is not a comprehensive list, just some immeadiate favorites. Also, many of the above postings list bands I love or love to hate!

Best Led Zepplin album ever is Led Zepplin III (IMO) although Houses of the Holy is tasty too.

One band I could stand never to hear again is Bad Company. I grew up with classic rock and some of that garbage has been played to DEATH!!!! Bad Company is one of those bands, as well as Boston, Molly Hatchet, Heart, etc.

Pretty much all over the map.. Anywhere from some Big Band to Some gossiple (I am not religious, just like the music). But the mainstay I suppose in good down to earth R & R. Stone, Led Zepplin, Clapton. Quite a variety. Not stuck on the rap either.

I'm pretty much a hard rock / heavy metal guy.

Favorite band of all time is Slayer.

    I also like a lot:
    Motorhead
Metallica (nothing after the 'And Justice for All' album, to me they started sucking with the black album and have gotten worse ever since)
    Alice in Chains
Black Sabbath (the Ozzy & Dio early years)
    Tool
    The Cult
    Disturbed

No, I meant Kill 'Em All. Master of Puppets had good songs, but albums as a whole after that weren't very good IMO.
