I have never owned an older bike and would like to take on a project. Locally there is a 1985 750 Interceptor for sale and im not sure what to pay for it. It is not running, has 21k on it and in need of a restoration. The bike is complete and the current owner say's it needs an ignition module as when you turn the key nothing happens. He has had it for 3 years and claims he had all 4 carbs rebuilt about 6 months ago but has no proof. He has not quoted me a price and i have no idea what to offer or even begin. He claims to have paid 1000.00 for it 3 years ago and has not had any time for it. Does anyone have a suggesstion as to what to pay for it? Any advice would be appreciated.
I am new to forums and hope I am asking the right questions with out offending anyone.

    Thank you in advance.

    non-runner = $500 tops.

If he has no receipts, that's his problem - and you don't want it to become yours.

A picture would be very helpful but i say $250 as described. The burden is on you if you choose to purchase and your blood sweat and tears are worth money off the price.
