This might seem like a strange thread, but I was curious to see how far some would be willing to go. Last weekend I went to visit a friend in San Louis Obispo, about 230 miles from me. They have a lot of mountain bike trails there. So I decided to take my mountain bike down. Didn't want to drive my truck that gets 15 mpg, so loaded the bike on the back of my vfr. Worked out well I must say. Took the tires off, and laid it across the back on the passenger seat. The bike only stuck out about 2" past my saddle bags.
So, just wanted to know who's tried what and did it work?
I'll try and get a pic up soon.

I would be willing to load Marisa Miller (Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover girl) on the back of my VFR.

if it fits go for it...

I like to ride around on weekends and occasionally stop at the goodwills or salvation armies to look for good deals I can put on ebay...

I've had speakers, snowboards, skis, you name it taped/bungie corded to the rear of my motorcycle....

at that time I was riding a concours... i'll let you know what happens when I take the vfr out.

I have loaded a duffel bag of drywall tools, screw gun, roll lifter, tool pouch, router, glue gun, saw, circular saw and bungied a T-Square on the back of my, like mikeym, concours. The bag was heavy, but I got to ride to work, once. Never did it again though. I have also seen others somehow get their mountain bikes on the back of their bikes, heading up to the Poconos.

Let's see, I've carried: a chain saw, water skis (they were a little wide), and a compound bow (flea market find). Other than that, normal things like a cooler (fit in the Givi bags), pistols (also fits the Givi's). I was going to build a bike rack, but haven't gotten around to it.

Good to har that many of you don't mind hauling anything around on the back of your bikes. I've also had my dirt bike tires on the back, took them down to get new one mounted. Keep them coming, this is great.

SLOVFR, sorry never looked at your location. Next time I'm down that way, I'll look you up.

Had a pink teddy bear on the bike... had a few dead bugs on it when it was given as a gift.

I saw a guy hauling cinder blocks from home depot on a bike one day, that was kinda funny...

And Reggie's having a BBQ here on the central coast in a few weeks, you should zip out from valley for it.

I think the one that takes the cake is the guy who was (is?) selling his 83 V45 Magna with custon long board rack so he could go surfing. I wonder if he was looking to upgrade to a concours?.........
