    Hi everybody,

I had a flat on my rear tire (VFR 800 FI 98) that has been repaired with old air tube bits... It worked well to finsh my trip (baja california - Mexico) but it is now leaking.
I need to remove my rear wheel in order to make a proper fixing, but I don't have the factory tool kit and I have no idea what kind of tool is needed to get the wheel off. If someone was kind enough to post a picture of that tool and maybe explain how to remove the back wheel, that would be great,

Thanks a lot, have a safe ride.

not sure of the socket size, do u have the tools that came with the bike under the seat? Single sway arm? if so take the four bolts in the rim off and the tire comes off put on C stand and block up rear sway arm before removal

Most 4 way lug wrench's should work.

To remove the rear wheel completely you just need to remove the 4 bolts with a lug wrench or appropriate sized socket. The chain itself can only be tightened using a chain spanner wrench.

you will have to get ahold of the spanner wrench that is part of the bikes tool kit. you can either buy the whole kit or just buy the specific spanner wrench at the dealer. its only about ten bucks or so for the wrench but buying the whole kit is about 60 or so. you would be better off building your own tool kit and just buying the spanners.

dont forget to buy the extension handle for the wrench as well when you get it.

The lugs are a 17MM. Keep in mind you need to remove the muffler bolt from the foot peg & loosten the clamp at the catalytic converter so you can swivel the muffler out of the way.

For some completely stupid reason, Honda removed part #'s from online OEM parts fiche. Pick your preferred site & it's under TOOLS & is #5 & you'll need #13 as well. Or just use this link or just go to your local Honda dealer & tell them what you want.
