I was found a 1983 VF750 that came in pretty rough condition. Front and seat fairing are RWB, tank and tail are red. Gas had been in the tank for about 10 years, tires are dry rotted, fuel lines are more like rods (filled with gunk), crank case breather hose is cracked etc.

Removed all fuel line, replaced the battery, splashed the carbs with fuel, hit the starter and she fired right up. She ran for about a minute with a really dumb fuel system of IV tubing dripping into the carbs. I took the carbs off, had them cleaned and professionally rebuilt but stalled out there.

I don't want to spend 5K restoring a 3K bike and I'm thinking of starting with a hack saw. Probably removing front fairing and tail section, selling parts I take off to fund the rest of it but I really don't have a clue what to do with the tank.

Any thoughts on any of it?
