I read about the protests and riots that are happening in New York and elsewhere. I have no understanding about what is going on.

I read this --> hashtag #invadewallstreet. What does that mean?

I haven't been following the news lately, but I am sure someone here on this board who is currently sucking on the information dick of Fox News and CNN will be along shortly with an idiotic answer rife with idiotic ideologies to back up their POV.

It is a lame attempt at brining around financial reform. It won't work, the protestors don't have the money to change it. Besides the unions are getting involved, now you know the protestors are screwed.

Once the zombie crowd gets involved, you know you're in for a treat.

    It is simple.

It is young people that are frustrated with the entire banking and power structure of the whole world.
Many of them do not have jobs.
On one video that I saw, a young black woman said she could get all of the unpaid internships she wanted, but getting a paid job was difficult.
The do not have enough experience. There is work out there.

I know a young guy just like that.
He did not have to go into the military. His upper middle class family did not want him to go into the military.
He has been working in a low paying job at a recycling business.
I wanted him to get a job as a mechanic in a city, state, federal, or county bus repair facility or something like that. A union job.

He is 25 years of age and is just drifting around. I can see what is going to happen. He will wake up one day and be 40 years of age with no savings ,no retirement, no pension and still be working in the low paying recycling job.
Then he will get sick or tired and not be able to work. When he gets 50 no one will hire him because they do not want the liability.

The kids protesting did get many people to jump ship and transfer their money to credit unions. But that will not help those young people. That will just help some of the older people. If the credit unions don't mess up or get greedy.

If I was a young person I would try very hard to get a city ,county, state, or federal job that has a union even if it was working on the county road crew. Then at least they will have some money to add to their social security.

I hope Obama can pass his jobs bill.
And hopefully it will be better than the WPA was.

How about the United States getting its infrastructure and pipelines in order?

I am a Viet Nam vet and after I got out of the military it was hard to get work.
I went to school but did not get a job. Even while in school the bank would not loan me $500. for school. The bank said if I had $500. they would loan me $500.
I had a surprise and got the money from a scholarship for high grades. Just showed up in the mail that same week.
After school I worked as a welder (self taught) in a low paying job and could not get any bank to loan me money to even buy a car, even with a job I had worked on for 11 years.

I finally got a credit union to loan me the $6,000 dollars for a decent car for half the interest the bank would have charged. I like the credit unions.
