As you may or may not know, I am cleaning up and restoring a 87 VFR700F2.

It has been through a few different owners and had a number of modifications done. Take a look at the pictures below and see if you recognize what model they are from. Should I replace them with stock parts? If they work good I would like to keep them...

I appreciate any help you can give.

    Thanks again!!

.....can't be Hawk cuz it's missing the 2 attachment points at front edge where gauges mount....unless they were ground off?

If it's Hawk it's a 1990 model identified by Honda logo cast in.

    Cool. Good info guys. Thanks.

I like the wheels but I am going to replace the rotors. Do I need to specifiy CBR rotors or are they the same as the VFR?

The upper clamp is fine with me. I like it. I will just paint it and clean it up. I have to buy a new ignition as well since the original is gone and the previous owner bought some piece of crap. Are the ignitions pretty much the same or do I need one that will fit this clamp?

I have two choices with the swingarm. One, get it cleaned up and either powdercoat it or paint it so it does not look so bad, or get a new one. It is my understanding it was a track bike for a while, hence the additional stuff. Thoughts or opinions?

    TIA!!

    Logo

I based my guess off the black backround on the Honda logo as it was clear of VFR.

Keep the stock rotors. Why would you want to replace them??
New rotors from Honda run around $325 each !!

CBR rotors may not work because of different diameter ( except that '88/'89 CBR F1--"Hurricane" --rotors were the SAME as VFR).

You should be aware that special (not VFR) spacers may be necessary to properly fit those wheels.
