You will get a bunch of different answers.
Personally I got Battlax BT-023s. The reviews were good, price was good, and I'm happy with them.
Plus I read on here someone got close to 10K miles on a set.

I like the round brands... the real question is what kinds of oil you have used... on the chain :chaingun:

My 6th gen happily rolls on Michelin Pilot Road 2's They work well on the commuting and give good feeling for how I ride the bike. You may want to talk with whoever is going to mount/balance the tires as that can be a surprising expense after mail-ordering tires.

For real, the stealership charged me $50 for my pair.
It's a Honda dealer but they are mainly Harley, and they were shocked that someone was bringing in loose wheels.
And they didn't even put the correct air pressure in, they put 30psi in each wheel.

Dunlop Roadsmart 2 has worked well for me. You likely have a set of Q2's or one of their other sport oriented tires on there.

I have been using Dunlop Roadsmart tyres and like them a lot - they warm up quickly, great all season tire with great wet weather tracking. When I bought my 05 VFR it had Conti RoadAttack tyres which are a really good cheaper tyre. I am planning on getiing a new set of Dunlop Sport Max tyres or a set of Michelin 2CT tyres for my 98 VFR. My present tyre preferences are: Dunlop SportMax, Dunlop RoadSmart or the Michelin 2CT tyres. IMHO if you are an aggressive rider or like to do a few trackdays then the Dunlop SportMax is what I would recommend. If you are more into daily comuting and touring the Dunlop RoadSmart is the tire I like.

The Dunlops you have on them now are a huge piece of shit, aside from teh fact they are old. Not sure if you've actually been riding with those, but damn near anything you put on the bike is going to be an improvement.

As others said, check what the cost is to ahve them installed and balanced. My dealer will often match the price I find online for tires, or at least come close, and then I save $ on the M&B because I purchased from him.

There is no single "right" tire. Depends on your style. That being said, I seldom hear any bad comments on the Michelin PR2. Now if you're into draggin a knee at every corner, they probably won't be right for you.

Off subject - you just got the bike running again. Have you checked, read, and researched the bazillion thread on the regulator/rectifier (R/R)? If not, do so. Or you may find yourself not riding so much in the near future.

Round and black and out the back is what we make at the plant. Unfortunately they are all car tires. I will mention that the company owns Dunlop also. As stated don't trust those old tires. Rubber continues to cure and will get brittle at some point. Stress cracks are a sure sign your tires have had it.
