    Based on its location, I would guess that it is the float bowl vent or the air passage that is part of the idle circuit. Just a guess, though.

    Their round. they pull right out of the carb. about a centimeter long.

    mine pulled right now. with pliers perhaps since they were in for 22 years. but just pulled out fairly easily.

    Sorry my only carb experience is old CB 750 carbs but spray some aerosol Gumout thru there using the extension straw. It won't hurt a thing, you'll clean out the passage and you will find out where it goes. I agree with Squirrelman it probably vents the float bowls and if there is any varnish in there it will do a world of good.

    While your in there use the Gumout in all passages. I drove the same CB 750 for 32 years and would clean the carbs every three or four years. Gumout was my best friend. Every time I cleaned the carbs the bike ran smooth as silk especially at idle.
