    Hi ladies and gents,
The other day I checked the airbox and discovered what looks like an oil mark (photo attached). This is near the inlet of the back bank, RHS engine. Hope you all can shed me some light on this matter.
    Thanks,
    Truong

PS: mine is 1998 gen 5.

Right beside it is the crankcase vent, my photo shows the hose attached at top left. There is a little "catch can" molded into the airbox housing...... essentially, oil vapour is drawn in via that hose and you may get some oil fogging on there.... the question is, when was the last time you cleaned out that little cup? How many miles on this gem anyway? You may have some reason for crankcase pressure, like piston rings wearing, habitually riding at high rpms/rapid decels, etc., etc. but seems minor to me, perhaps normal.

I'd just clean it up and see what happens in a month of riding.... check your air cleaner once a year?? Here is a pic of mine at 65k-ish miles, minor oil stain right where yours is.....
