what does the fi light mean

    i have a 2000 vfr with the light on the bike was running rough and i installed a new battery i think ther may be an electrical problem eg. when i swtch from low to high beam the rpm gage moved (went down like 200 rpm then went back) almost like a big draw any ideas thanks

    Could be a bad stator or RR unit or battery or all three. Get yourself a digital multimeter ($20 at ACE hardware), vfr manual, and USE the fault finding flow chart at Electrosport. I don't recommend their products though. Use OEM even though it's more expensive. Honda engineers know what they're doing! Good luck brother. I had to do the same thing.

    FI light refers to your fuel injector...turn on key, FI light comes on and Fuel injector pump turns on (you can hear it), Light goes out and bike is ready to start.

    my 1998 did the thing. on the left side there is a plug with 10 or 12 thin green wires ,one of them shorted out and broke,soldered it back 5000 miles ago no problems yet
