I've been contemplating putting some graphics on my black 06. This is what I think I want to do, but what some opinions. My other option was to put the wings on in grey with the red outline.

not for me, but it is your bike, what do you think of it?
you looking at doing in paint, or with decals? Paint will affect your resale value, unless, when you want to sell, you find someone looking to buy, that has the same taste as you.

Your bike = your choice, but seeing as you're asking...
I think the graphic is a bit too bold. I prefer more plain-jane over 90s style racer boy.
If I were to get creative with a solid black bike, I'd do a paint scheme similar to the 2007 RW&B stripes. Picture your bike with a silver pannel where the RWB has white and a bright red stripe where the dark red is on RWB. It'd be a similar scheme to your photochop, but much classier looking IMHO.

ok, a little bold. I get it. What if I take out the red background and use a silver background instead. This will be a vinyl decal graphic, not paint.

I think it looks pretty cool. It reminds me of old school Vans:cool: If its decals the only risk is the cost. I personally prefer longer graphics to emphasize the natural lines of the bike, but it's not trifling IMO.

I think it looks cool, it seems very loud when done with paint shop like that, but when the decals are cut in vinyl it will look so much more like it belongs. I say go for it, make it yours.

What about a slant on the letters?
Don't worry what others say, it's good to be different.

I think the Interceptor and VFR have always been a step above other sporty bikes, not surcoming to all of those flashy "Bold" graphics. But, it's YOUR bike. If you do it and don't like it, peel it off and start over. Putting personal touches on a bike is half the fun.

    Could be fun...

Just ditch the VFR letters on the bottom... Too much like the ricer crowd and the Type-R everything...

The interceptor on the tail is plenty.

It's OK, but I would go to BMW's site and look at the K1200S and R1200S optional paint schemes for some inspiration on the "subdued yet racy" striped look.

    attempt to help

Here is my humorous attempt to show what is possible with some graphics and tactical farkles...

Can you use your paint program to do better? I have neglected skulls since someone else thought of that  note the "afterburner" effect.

oh, and EVT... this is what's next...

dude! I like skulls! My favorite custom of all time was a fireblade that had a 916 fairing and was painted with a skull on the fairing. It was red and purple splashed (this was early 90s) Loved that bike.
