I currently do not carry anything for emergency tire repair but have been checking different items out with the intent to buy. I am looking to carry it under my seat.

I saw the following Item on this week's feature on ridermagazine.com. It is a Co2 and plug tire repair kit. It looks small and like it might fit the bill. Am am looking for opinions and suggestions.

That is the brand of kit that I have under my seat currently....already helped out of a jam last year! I like to think that at least if I get a simple nail flat I can now fix it and ride home rather than the flatbed.

the following is the one i carry. haven't used it yet. i bought it at a motorcycle show and seems like it will work great(hopefully i will never find out). it uses actual rubber plugs instead of the rope style plug. its from a company called stop-n-go. not advertising for them, just letting u know. it does take up some room under the seat though. i keep mine toward the back where the owners manual usually goes to keep the co2's away from the heat and it fits ok.

It looks like you could pare down the kit a bit to only take enough for one or two plugs and make it smaller. I kinda like the idea of the solid rubber plugs. I would probably add a razor to the kit. The issue with solid rubber plugs is that if that are not trimmed very close they can be pulled from the tire. I noticed on these plugs though is that they look to have a tip that once in the tire would prevent that. I also like the non t-handle tools. I would think they would pack easier.

I wonder how much harder it would be to insert the reamer and plug without the T though.

Thanks for the info I will definately check it out. I better not take too long to investigate this. I would feel better having a kit with me.

I have the same one V4PWR has. It fits perfectly under the seat of a 5th Gen. I also carry a pair of small vice grips to make using the CO2 cartridge that much easier. I've never used one but I know someone who has & he was able to go over 300 miles until he was able to purchase a new tire.

    KC-10 FE out...
