My good friendDave) and I left at 9am Saturday morning to pick up yet another friend(Rubin) to go to Troy NY to pick up the VFR. By 11am we only got about 6 mile from our original starting point. Breakfest, gas bathroom ,coffee, second breakfest, you know how it goes.
So I had to get behind the wheel and get us to Troy before they close at 2pm .Mind you we're about 120-140 miles away, and driving a pick up which will not do more then 70 mph..So by the time Dave said" I need to stop and get some Asprin for head ache" I thought about calling it off and going another day.
But Ruby said "turn on the turbo's and lets go get this bitch" After we got her we went to the Cracker Barrel a rarity for us because we usually look for a Mom and Pop place to eat.We finished our meals and Dave gave us the catch phrase of the day "wash your mouth".He insisted Ruby and I use the mouth wash he kept in the truck because "I can feel the cigarette smoke going into my body". Mind you we do not smoke in the car.Whatever.
The bike is almost the same color as the R1 in the back round .Who'da thunk it.....

I can't wait to ride it already but there is too much salt and dirt on the road.

The firdt mod was the Powerlet cigarette lighter .After romoving the left panel I marked it and took out the drill and as I started to drill Ruby yelled "wait we've only had the bike a few hours and, already we are drilling a hole in it " That's the way it goes Second mod tankslapper clear cover on the gas tank and headlights.

Nice bike! I have had mine 6 days. Saturday the OEM bags and Heli Bars get installed. A cigarette lighter? Really? Can't ya just use a zippo? If you are smoking while on the bike, then you are going way too slow:) Have fun!

A friend of mine got a 2007 new in the crate last summer. It's a stunningly beautiful bike.

NYR1 I just got mine from the dealer, so I paid retail which is too much. I think $1091. There is a thread on this forum somewhere where someone posted a link where you can get them for $850. Do a search and you should find it.
