Since Lake Tahoe was voted the place for the West Coast Convention, let me throw a date at you guys, July 16-19, that is Monday through Thursday, the reason I throw this date out there is because Laguna Seca is July 20-22 and some of the riders mentioned that they want to go, and I think the good races are on Sat. the 21 and Sunday the 22.

That would give some of the riders who are going to Laguna Seca a chance to ride one day on Hwy. 1 south of Monterey, one of the best rides in the world. Since that's Reg's neck of the woods, I'm sure he can show us a couple of roads off the beaten path.

This is just a thought on the dates and is very much open for discussion, but let me know if those dates work for you...

I figure the dates won't be settled for at least a month or so, just throwing those dates out there so everybody can put in for vacation if everybody agrees those should be the days. If we arrives on Monday and leave on Thursday a.m. , that will give us 2 full days to do whatever, Is that about how many days everyone was thinking? And then I will heading to Monterey for the Moto GP and a day of riding Hwy. 1. Don't you live in Pomona? You can ride the coast all the way down.

    VFR meet

I'm going crazy I know theres a thread on this but can't find it, so I'll just bring it up again this way here. Has there been any deciding on the where is the VFR meet to be here on the west side of the country? not that the folks east of the Mississippi can't come and join in. I'm thinking some place like around the Shasta Mountain area.

Here is the one your looking for, what I think is going to happen is we won't make plans on a west coast convention till summer and a lot of people will have set vacations and won't be able to attend. Lake Tahoe seemed to be the place of choice.

Here is another thread I started to try to get a little organization but it never really took off, I'm diffently going to Seca and I hope the week of July 16-19 works for everybody because with the vacation with the wife I'll only have a little over a week to do this...

it shows up in general vfr discussions on mine... if you look at the top just below the control bar, there should be a thread location listed kind of like directories are listed in a shell window on a computer.. i.e. VFRworld > General > General VFR Discussions It appears in gray and it's kind of small. On mine, it's just left of the paypal button and the Google Search Button

I have been watching all the threads and I'm pretty flexible on my schedule so just about anything works for me. I have to check with my wife on what she has available because she'd like to go. I am currently in Missouri so I'll have to have her check her schedule and e-mail it to me or try to remember all these dates on the phone (not likely) or just wait until next week when I'm home. :)

Well with summer coming and going faster evey year it seems, just was thinking to get my hands on the schedule of sorts as some areas book up really fast. I'm for Reno, almost went last year but do to wether and work made that a no show. thing is there's better riding in the central west area of N.Ca. IMO. So I', just bringing the who what whys to the table again. For those not familliar, could also fit that bill, But Hiway#36 out of Red Bluff is one that's always talked about, so be nice if that was close by as far everyone to get a taste of it. I mean its 144 miles of wonder and this is just the begaining of great roads to come by. So why not start out close.

I could care less where the VFR meet is because I'm guessing the PNW group will be at least 8 and we could go any route you want. I think half the fun for the PNW group will be before we even get to the VFR meet, It will be nice to get you on a road that you don't know like the back of your hand.

I'm definitely up for something in July. My one and only question is whether having it during the week will be an issue for some people. I can take time off, but there might be some folks who would like to come, but a 3-4 weekend would be better in terms of vacation time from work. Like a Friday through Monday. But, I also like the idea of timing it with Laguna. I don't know if I'm going to the races, but I know a lot of people (like the PNW) group are, so that timing would work out good.

Yea all is good, don't matter what the road is, I'm still faster than you... JK but really thou, I'm with ya on the part getting there could be half the fun, but the way I see it, the N.CA area is where it's all at. So I'm thinking just get my butt there first. ya know to the point no chasing side roads getting there. last thing I need to be is worn out just getting there..
Michael that 4 day thing is what I'm thinking too or 3 day as in Sat. Sun, Mon. then a slow cruise of sorts to laguna which sorta starts friday. so taking an extra 3 day to get there would be another part of the adventure.

I re read that, so it has been decided that Reno is the place? Ok, so now it's a date thing? I'm with the weekend before Laguna that's my vote, if theres one to be had.

I have merged the West Coast Convention and the VFR Meet into one thread since these two both related mostly to west coast members and those who could/can make a west coast meet. Further details/questions should be posted here in order to better keep track of the details.

Judging by the posts here, with a little confusion thrown in by RVFR, it looks like the place is either Lake Tahoe or Reno and the date is sometime in July, possibly the 16th thru the 19th. Am I correct so far? For whomever is organizing this, here is a starting point I guess. Hope combining these will help smooth the process of organizing this event.

I would like to suggest, for meets more to local areas, to post those in the appropriate regional forum and use the area in the post heading.

Since the wife threw a European vacation at me, I probable will only have a week vacation and two weekends for this, not sure if I could Seca in that amount of time, but any day will work for me, Since I have been to Seca many times, and if I had to pick between Seca or VFR convention, which looks like I probable will have to do, I would diffently pick VFR convention. Since the Hulk Hogan lookalike RVFR knows about every twisty from Canada to California, I know the trip to California will be awesome. I know the PNW group will be large because I have received numerous PM's from VFR riders from the PNW and Canada, and have no doubt that it will be the highlight of my riding season...

P.S. Is the location Reno or Tahoe??? :frusty: :frusty: :frusty:
