Well it has been a couple of months since I sold my 2004 6th gen in preparation for our move back home to NZ and I was starting to get a bit twisted not having a bike for so long

So today I got onto the NZ trading site ( Trademe ) as I do most mornings to checkout the latest listings and there was a shiny 2008 VFR with only 25600km's and it looked really tidy so I got on the phone and thoroughly quizzed the salesman about the bike and the history and found the previous owner traded it in on a 2014 registered 2009 model with even less km's

they swear it has just had a major service including shims fork oil and new tyres fitted

Sooooo I put down a deposit and I will fly to Wellington on wednesday next week and ride it to my sons house 645 km's away in Auckland ( I might take the long way adding another 80km's to the trip)and then fly back to Brisbane ,Australia on Saturday to finalize all the house sale and packing so we can finally get back home to NZ

Hopefully it is all good or we will need to negotiate on the price

Now to try and get some sleep until Wednesday yeah like that's going to happen
I'm more excited than a kid at christmas

Plus I still have my Two Brothers exhaust and Givi monorack with V47 topbox to fit when I get there with all the household removal stuff

Be careful going to NZ the way the trend is there will be more Aussies there than NZers

    Nice one Norm!

Pack your winter woolies for the trip, it's 3C in Wellington at the moment and the Desert Rd is closed with snow.

Oh well Terry that means going up the west coast damn what a shame ! all those corners and great scenery I don't care how cold it gets just so glad to be back on a bike and in NZ

I will be staying just north of Wellington on Wednesday night and getting an early start on Thursday morning and should be in Auckland by late Thursday afternoon

No rush and I will need a couple of pics to post up with snow covered mountains as a back drop and stops for coffee along the way

I just bought a new much heavier jacket for the trip as I don't think my dririder climate control vented jacket will cut it + the bike has heated grips and I have a set of spidi winter gloves

And then I can lounge around Auckland on Friday before flying back Saturday
