I went ahead and did the unthinkable...... I'm a married man as of 6 tonight. At least she is letting me keep the interceptor-saurus-rex. Haha that's cheesy but I like it. IMG_1276577375302617.jpg

+1 for what OOTV said. Congratulations. I've heard that getting married can drain the life out of ya, but geeeez man.

Glad to hear you get to keep the bike, and now all you have to do is get one for your wife and you can both enjoy rides through the land of witches, warlocks, zombies, and ghouls.

Lol that would be nice if she liked bikes but she is way to scared. She doesn't even like to ride on back. Its probably safer anyways as she can't even drive a car really.

Not sure. She says she just feels like she is going to fall off. She is a nervous person, she just recently got her drivers license and she is 23.

My wife, a long time ago, felt the same way. Her ex boyfriend at the time (I must give credit where credit is due) got her on the back of his bike and drove her around the parking lot at the local mall. She said he drove painfully slow for hours on end and mostly in straight lines. He would drive from one end to the other really slow (less than 10 mph) and she would get off, he'd turn around then he would go back the other way. When she was comfortable just going straight, she added in the turn at the end of the parking lot, and then gradually she grew comfortable going faster. Took her about a year to get comfortable enough to go on the street with her ex. He was EXTREMELY patient and as a result she grew to trust him and the bike.

When my son Liam wanted to go for a ride with me, he is 6 now but he started at 4, I started him the same way. Very slow rides, mostly straight at first and then added turns at slow speed and then when he was comfortable we added in turns a bit faster. Once he was comfortable with leaning with the bike in the corners, everything else just fell in to place. My son is now a fantastic little passenger and honestly just about rivals my wife.

As as long as you prove to her that her safety and comfort is of paramount concern to you, she may surprise you and ask for a ride one day. Don't rush it. Another thing that might help is to explain to her (in a way that makes sense to your wife, not to you) why it is that you enjoy motorcycles so much, she may come around and be willing to give it a try.

The true joy of motorcycling for me is the ability to share it with my wife and she feels the same way. Since she sold her last bike before my son was born she has wanted to get another one. With my daughter getting to be just about big enough to get on the bike with me, my wife wanted to get a bike of her own so that she could enjoy the same fun that I enjoy when riding with my son Liam.

Maybe some day your wife will want to see what it is all about, and maybe not, you just never know.

She does to with me but she doesn't enjoy it at all. I have to feed her a line about the money we save in fuel and the doller signs talk her into it. I will try the patience thing and maybe get her something small to put around the yard in just to get over the fear of two wheels

Well, if she does begin to enjoy riding with you, then maybe at some point, she will want to try it on her own. My wife has always enjoyed riding on her own bike once she started because she has control over how fast she goes, and where she goes. She wants to be able to ride with the kids as passenger but she has yet to ride with a passenger and that makes her a bit nervous, especially when it comes to the kids. I suggested that once our daughter is big enough to ride that my wife takes our son Liam (since he is a great passenger and is comfortable with being a passenger) and I ride with my daughter until she gets the hang of it.

If I have learned one thing about marriage, it is that you have to have trust in one another. My wife is not just someone I can love, live and be friends with, she is someone whose love and friendship I could NOT live WITHOUT.

Congrats man!!! The 3 rules of marriage...

    1. She is always right
    2. You are always wrong

If you are in an argument and you are right......

    3. refer to #s 1 and 2.

Looks like it was a fun ceremony....

In any argument a woman always has the last word. Anything you say after that is the beginning of a new argument.

Kidding- good luck to you both!
