Yesterday was beautiful, and I was off, so I decided I would wile the day away with a long ride. The Vif's battery has been scetchy so I went out to the garage, pulled out the mighty ZRX, dusted it off, oiled the chain, got all geared up, Ipod on, locked the garage up........hit the start button........nothing. I think when my SIL let my grandson sit on it a week ago he might have turned the key on.... So, no big deal, as I have 3 bikes, so I rolled the Kwack back in, rolled the Vif out, rolled down the hill and "bump" started her, checked the guage and had a half tank so off I went. Felt like exploring so went North out of K.C. Mo. sticking to back roads and hoping to find a new twisty somewhere out there. Rode about 70 miles and the gas guage had 2 lines left so stopped in lathrop Mo for gas. Wouldn't restart. The gas station parking lot was flat as a board and I couldn't get her going fast enough to "bump". Lucky for me a Harley rider pulled in for gas and agreed to push me, wherein she fired off. So I hopped on I-35 and booked it on home just in case. Now I've got 3 dead or nearly dead batteries (I'm asuming the Guzzi's is down, as I haven't ridden it for nearly 2 months. I think the Vif needs a new one, the Guzz and the Kwack's are nearly new, so they should charge back up. That's what I get for not riding since my son went back to the Marines after his last leave. I was kinda missing my 'ol riding buddy so I haven't been riding as much. Hate to buy a new batt right before winter! Oh well, the trials and tribulations of having 3 and letting them sit too long! Good problem to have I guess...... Gonna restore the old Ambo this winter, might as well get started!
You need a nice little maintenance charger setup. They make ones that have muliple outputs. Ooh-rah! Jose LCpl USMC
