I want to put in a good word for a guy that knows his stuff and does what he says he will do. Joshua at WireMyBike.com helped me with an upgrade on my '98 regulator / rectifier after a meltdown. He supplied a harness (a VFRness, he says) that will fit the larger and upgraded Honda 2000 reg/rec to my '98. It plugged in so that I did not have to cut and solder at all. He sent the harness made so that I can go back to the original '98 design as a back up, too.
Joshua explained everthing over the phone and was a big help. He sent an extra fuse, needed for the change, and some extra spades as well, no charge. We need more folks like him around. I will do business with him again in a heartbeat.

Moneysoon, thanks. I just downloaded his website. We need to throw more business his way. BTW, I would still add a fan onto your new R/R. Good luck.

What's the scoop on the fan? I think air circulation - lack of same - was a factor in the failure. I was idling in traffic when the melt down happened. If there is no inlet then all you are doing is blowing hot air on the fins is the fan "ducted"?
