WARNING WARNING, New guy! 1st VFR

The name is Wayne, I'm 51 been a dirt biker for 36 years, live in Jax FL and thinking of gitting my first street only bike. So be gentle with me, have a few questions.
First off, 5'8" 175 lb looking at a 97 VFR 750 ( God I love the sound & that single side swingarm!) It is as clean as a 97 can be.
New stuff::
Tires
Chain
Exhaust
Paint
Runs great! I can get it for $2,400 good deal??? Anthing I need to look for on this model?

Welcome to VFRWorld, Wayne. Whenever a used bike says it's got new paint it always makes me think it's been down and put back together...I'd have the thing inspected at a local bike shop just to be sure it's in tip top shape. Otherwise, price sounds decent assuming it's got average miles on it.

 

How many miles? Even if it has a lot, these motors last a long time. Ask the owner about the bike's maintenance (oil changes, possible valve checks, brakes, etc.) Check if it smokes from the exhaust after revving it a bit. Other than that, check for basic overall condition. That's what I would do. Hope it turns out well; 4th gens are sweet bikes. Is the paint new? Might have been wrecked.

 

for the miles!

The miles are 22,000 the guy spins wrench's @ a honda shop & does paint & body work. I've had the plastic off for a look see, Looks good!
