ok....when my viffer is cold my VTEC wont kick in.....it will still run up to 11000 rpm with no prob but its just a solid acceleration....is this normal? a couple mins lata i tried agian and it worked just fine...i dont know if its some kind of safety feature or what but its kinda annoying wonderin if i will have VTEC or not.....i mean it still runs really strong but i dont get that extra thrust....and its a steady acceleration with no spitting or spuddering. anywayz any comments or opinions would be greatly appreciated....and incase ur wondering the bike has been running a cpl minutes b4 i lay into it like that...thanks

You are correct. It won't kick in until it reaches the correct temperature. I forget the exact temperarture but think it is around 180 degrees F.

it was at about 140 degrees....and i hardly ever get in the VTEC for better gas mileage and thats why i wasnt sure.....i always start the bike up and let it idle for a cpl mins to get the oil circulating and i hardly ever get on it cold but i was pullin out in traffic and tryin to get up to spd and out of the way as quick as possible but VTEC never kicked in and it had happened one other time as well....i was just curious if it was supposed to do it or not but now that i know that it wont kick in till 170 degrees i know to wait.....thanks for the help everyone
