How big of a difference is there between the '02-'05s and the '06 + ?

My understanding is that Honda adjusted the RPM thresholds for the VTEC engagement. I was wondering if the difference was significant pre and post and how much I should factor the difference into my bike buying decision.

    TIA!!

It's not a huge difference and the VTEC is just as annoying in the early 6th Gens as it is in the later 6th Gens like mine (07)

The actual RPM difference in engagement if I remember correctly is 6800 rpm on the older models and 6400 on the newer models. The newer models are slightly better since it is less likely to engage/disengage at highway cruising speeds but nonetheless I wish the newer models didn't have the VTEC at all.

    Regards,
